Take over a pension after a death
For the wife, husband, child or dependent parent of someone who was getting a pension
Most people do not know this: if your name is already written in their pension order, your bank can start paying you without any office visit at all. We will ask you about that first, because it can turn six weeks into one. If your name is not there, it goes to the office they worked in.
What you will need
- Death certificateThe one the municipality or the panchayat gave you.
- Aadhaar cardBoth sides.
- The PPO paperIf you cannot find it, your bank has a copy.
- Bank passbookThe first page, where the account number and IFSC are printed.
- A photo of your faceWe will take it with the camera in a moment.
- Something that shows you were married· Only if you have itA marriage paper, or a ration card with both names on it.
